AssetPoint's TabAnyWare for Mobile Inventory Management (MIM) is now available. According to the company, this solution allows inventory management functions to be performed at the point of issue, eliminating the dependency of accessing a terminal for data entry or updates. Efficiencies for storeroom personnel are improved by having access to data for recording inventory updates, issues, part movements, warehousing data and stock levels. The TabAnyWare Mobile Inventory Management solution supports single or multi-warehouse management, on demand inventory counts for full physical inventory or random cycle counts and convenient bar code scanning to ensure part number accuracy.
Delivered on a ruggedized, hand-held portable PC device designed to withstand harsh environments and heavy usage, the TabAnyWare RF option allows for real-time tracking of inventory issues and charges to work orders. The system also synchronizes through dial-up or docking station to immediately update TabWare, AssetPoint's CMMS/EAM.
AssetPoint developed the solution application using Microsoft's .Net Compact Framework and .Net Web Services. This technology was chosen for its strong framework for building rich graphical user interfaces, interoperability among software languages and, integration with Microsoft's operating system and enterprise server software.
According to ARC's Research Director, Houghton LeRoy, "AssetPoint's new TabAnyWare Mobile Inventory Management solution is a great example of the new breed of mobile solutions that offer significant productivity improvements and associated cost savings. The ability to perform critical asset management functions remotely permits personnel to quickly react and respond to important inventory management issues that reduce overall inventory and maintenance costs."
